Testimonials

Silver has always been the precious metal of choice for the manufacture of personal items and ornaments. Because of its value Silver has attracted high quality workmanship and design. In 1479 the Hallmarking system as we know it today was first instigated, and is still the oldest and most trusted guarantee in the world. A hallmark means that an item has been independently tested and guarantees that it conforms to all legal standards of purity (fineness). These tests are carried out by an Assay Office, of which the main ones are London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Edinburgh.

Where to start! The range of jewellery available is enormous, and here at Jonathan Green Antiques we tend to stock the more traditional and classic items of gem set jewellery featuring Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies and Sapphires. We try where possible to source more individual pieces both in the pre-owned, antique and new selections. On this website, we have placed a representative selection of stock, but if you are looking for a particular piece, please contact us and we will do our best to source it.

Jewellery

Richard Cooper &amp; Company work with UK sculptors and designers to create stunning and unique foundry bronze sculptures. Sculptures are available in a variety of sizes across wide subject matters including Country Life, Country Pursuits &amp; Interests, Figurative and Equestrian. The main Art in Bronze collection sees their sculptures limited to editions as low as 25 pieces for large works and up to 250 for smaller designs.&nbsp;They also have an exquisite range of open edition miniatures in the Butler &amp; Peach collection. All bronzes are produced using the lost wax method. Each bronze is decorated and finished using the traditional method of patination and comes beautifully boxed with a certificate of authenticity.

We carry the largest stock of antique and pre-owned silver in the region, together with antique, pre-owned and reproduction gem set jewellery. As one of the leading dealers and stockholders in the Region we are always looking to purchase all items of Silver from scrap items to fine Antique pieces and Collections. Arts & Crafts silver preserve jar hallmarked for Sheffield 1920 maker Harry Charles Hall who taught at Swansea and Sheffield Schools of Art in the 1920's and 30's, the silver stand that holds the blue ceramic jar has 3 splayed planished/hammered feet with a pierced gallery with roundels, the lid has a silver 1914 shilling mounted on top as a finial, beautifully hand crafted and of unusual design.
