Testimonials

Silver has always been the precious metal of choice for the manufacture of personal items and ornaments. Because of its value Silver has attracted high quality workmanship and design. In 1479 the Hallmarking system as we know it today was first instigated, and is still the oldest and most trusted guarantee in the world. A hallmark means that an item has been independently tested and guarantees that it conforms to all legal standards of purity (fineness). These tests are carried out by an Assay Office, of which the main ones are London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Edinburgh.

The range of jewellery available is enormous, and here at Jonathan Green Antiques we tend to stock the more traditional and classic items of gem set jewellery featuring Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies and Sapphires. We try where possible to source more individual pieces both in the pre-owned, antique and new selections. On this website, we have placed a representative selection of stock, but if you are looking for a particular piece, please contact us and we will do our best to source it.

Richard Cooper &amp; Company work with UK sculptors and designers to create stunning and unique foundry bronze sculptures. Sculptures are available in a variety of sizes across wide subject matters including Country Life, Country Pursuits &amp; Interests, Figurative and Equestrian. The main Art in Bronze collection sees their sculptures limited to editions as low as 25 pieces for large works and up to 250 for smaller designs.&nbsp;They also have an exquisite range of open edition miniatures in the Butler &amp; Peach collection. All bronzes are produced using the lost wax method. Each bronze is decorated and finished using the traditional method of patination and comes beautifully boxed with a certificate of authenticity.

This is a fine large presentation casket / cigar box white metal tests as silver unmarked, of rectangular form the hinged cover chased with elephants and mythical animals and birds  with a peacock finial, inscribed 

" Presented by the Committee of the Radio Club of Ceylon and South India and a few friends to Mr E Harper Chief Engineer Telegraph dept. Ceylon on his retirement in appreciation of his exceptional services to broadcasting in Ceylon 15.9.31"

The sides with similar decoration on four mythical animal feet the interior wood lined.
